Dr. Ahmed Beshtawi, International Law Assitant Professor has recently been to The Hague, the Netherlands to give ‎a lecture at the International Centre for Water Cooperation (ICWC) of UNESCO. The lecture shed light on ‎negotiations over water during the peace process and the Israeli control of the water resources in the ‎Occupied Palestinian Territory as well as the results of this control on Palestinians.‎‏ ‏It also tackled Israel's ‎strategy of imposing control through military forces and exploitation of international law with regards to ‎water resources in the region.‎‏ ‏ICWC is the first UNESCO Category, II Centre in The Netherlands, and the ‎first in the world to focus on trans-boundary water management in connection with peace, conflict and ‎regional development.‎
