Lecture at the International Centre for Water Cooperation (ICWC) of UNESCO

Dr. Ahmed Beshtawi, International Law Assitant Professor has recently been to The Hague, the Netherlands to give a lecture at the International Centre for Water Cooperation (ICWC) of UNESCO. The lecture shed light on negotiations over water during the peace process and the Israeli control of the water resources in the Occupied Palestinian Territory as well as the results of this control on Palestinians. It also tackled Israel's strategy of imposing control through military forces and exploitation of international law with regards to water resources in the region. ICWC is the first UNESCO Category, II Centre in The Netherlands, and the first in the world to focus on trans-boundary water management in connection with peace, conflict and regional development.
